University Credit
All
University and College students can earn up to 14 Spanish credits
though a Major US University while they study abroad. This study
abroad option is only available for the following locatons: Quito,
Ecuador; San
Jose, Costa Rica; Buenos
Aires, Argentina; and Santiago,
Chile.
Spanish Courses
Available
Students who would like
to earn credit for their study abroad program can earn up to 14
credits. Each University has their own designation for
what essentially is recognized as the same Spanish class by many
different Universities. For the sake
of simplicity we will designate the classes offered as Beginning
Spanish 1 and 2 as well as Intermediate Spanish 1 or 2. This commonly
are known as Spanish 101 and 102 or 201 and 202 respectively.
These 4 Spanish courses
are those that many students are now required to take at many
Universities in order to complete the required course load to
receive their undergraduate degree. Students will be required
to complete a minimum of 5 weeks of the standard Spanish courses
with 4 lessons per day
(Monday-Friday) in order to receive the needed contact hours to
receive beginner Spanish credit. The Spanish credit for intermediate
courses requires 3 weeks of the same Spanish course. The Beginner
Spanish courses are worth 4 credits each and the Intermediate
Spanish courses are worth 3 credits each.
Who can receive academic
credit?
The University credit provided
for these Spanish immersion programs are applicable
to many undergraduate degree programs at university programs throughout
the United States. Students from Arizona State, Texas State, Florida
State, UCLA, Ohio State, Michigan State and many other universities
have utilized this academic credit so that they can study
Spanish abroad in a full immersion evironment and still complete
their Spanish language requirements. All student must contact
their advisor to make sure that their home University or College
will accept the credit offered by this particular Spanish program.
The program prices below
include the standard Spanish program of group classes with 4 lessons
per day and the listed amount of credits for the given amount
of time indicated. You will receive 20 contact hours per week.
The pricing also includes host family accommodations with 2 meals
per day as required. Mandatory health insurance is also
included in the program price. If you need to combine a Beginner
and Intermediate Course for 7 or 9 credits, then you can subtract
$250 from the added prices of the two programs.

Spanish Credit Program
Registration for a program
including university Spanish credit is as simple as the normal
private language school registration. You can simply click on
the register online now link at the top of the screen and follow
the prompts to register. Once your program is confirmed we will
provide further instructions on completing the necessary documentation
to received the academic credit.
