SA Antigua #2

Our partner Spanish language school (SA Antigua #2) is located in two beautiful colonial buildings located in the heart of Antigua. The Spanish language school was founded over 9 years ago, and today has a reputation as one of the best schools in Antigua. The programs offered by this Spanish school are endorsed by both the Ministerio de Educación de Guatemala and the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo, offers "Total Spanish Immersion Study". Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:00-12:00 and 2:00-5:00, and students may start any Monday of the year. There are more than 30 teachers employed at the Spanish language school who are university trained with degrees specializing in the teaching of Spanish to foreigners.

The Spanish language school offers a relaxed tranquil environment, with a choice of studying in either of the two centrally located buildings - both colonial style buildings with bougainvillea-filled gardens. Some students also enjoy walking in the park or strolling through town with their professors. A few have even been known to study over a beer in a local cantina! Besides the standard option of staying with a local host family, the Spanish language school also offers 2 different student residences for students who want a little more privacy.

Besides a great 4-7 lessons per day intensive language program, the Spanish language school offers many different activities. These activities include volleyball, ping-pong, movie nights, happy hours, bike trips, cultural excursions in the school van, "round table" discussions, Latin dance classes, and, of course, many fiestas! Students also have free use of the schools cable T.V., and internet. Coffee, tea and purified water are available throughout the day.

• In Antigua you avoid the congestion associated with larger cities.

Private Instruction: One-to-one Spanish instruction for 4-7 lessons per day. If you need an intensive Spanish program, this is it! Students and teachers work one-on-one, which allows each student to work at his/her individual level. The Spanish school places particular emphasis on flexibility. Students pick the areas they wish to emphasize - conversation, comprehension, writing, etc. If you need pricing for the 5 or 7 lesson options, please contact our office.

Extra Options

For people traveling together, it is possible to set up small group Spanish instruction. Specialized Spanish instruction is available (Flight Attendants, Pilots, Nurses, Doctors, Business groups, and Cultural tours).

• Private room with a local host family 3 meals per day with host family (except on Sundays)..
• Access to email, the internet, phone, fax service.
• Students can also opt to stay in a student residence. With this option students choose no meals or 3 meals per day.
• Close to the school is a business which offers complete fax, telephone, and email service.
• Books, handouts, etc.
• Cultural activities .
• Academic credit available.

Start Dates: Classes start EVERY MONDAY throughout the year. The only exception to this occurs when a holiday falls on a Monday. If a person has unique time constraints, it is possible to begin a program on a day other than Monday.
