ACTIVITIES
Mountaineering & Trekking
Argentina
is a nature lovers paradise. Its vast open spaces offer plenty
of wilderness walks. Trekkers can get into the back country, scale
steep trails and see impressive vistas from hill tops. The most
popular areas are the national parks along the Chilean border,
Tierra del Fuego and the high Andean mountains. If you want to
scale one of the Andean mountains with your own two feet, Mt.
Aconcagua and Mt. Mercendario are your best choices. Its an intermediate
to advanced climb and trekkers would need some physical training
and acclimatization to the high altitude. The ascent is not technically
demanding so it is not limited to only mountaineers. Comfortable
base camps and porters make the trip enjoyable as well as rewarding.

are the Lake District and Mendoza. In other areas, be prepared
for gravel roads
and very strong winds.
Skiing
Argentina has many resorts that have plenty of
snow cover and nice sunny days. Most resorts have ski schools
with instructors from all over the world to cater to the tourists,
so language will not be a problem. The three most popular ski
areas are the southern Cuyo region with Las Lenas and Los Molles
Dr Malargue, the Lakes District with Cerro Cathedral complex near
Bariloche and Chapelco near San Martin de los Andes, and skiing
area near Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego.

Rafting & Kayaking

popular sporting activities in Argentina. It takes place on the
white waters that descend from the Andean divide, from San Luis
and Mendoza. Most of them are class III whitewater rapids but
some are gentler class II floats. The main areas are the Rio Mendoza,
Rio Diamante, the Rio Hua Hum, Rio Meliquina, the Rio Limay and
Rio Manso.
