CLIMATE
Argentina is the 8th largest country in the world
and due to its size, geographical location and altitudes presents
climatic characteristics that greatly differ from one region to
the other. Argentina lies beneath the equator and hence winter
last from July to October, while the summer extends from December
to March. Climates range from hot and humid in the north to cold
and rainy in the south. In northern Argentina, summer days will
be about 90 F and nights around 70 F, winter temperatures range
between the 40 and 60 F. The best time to visit is October-April,
to lie on the beach, go December - March and to ski, go July -
October.
The countries terrain consists of rich plains
of the Pampas in northern half, flat to rolling plateau of Patagonia
in south and the rugged Andes along western border. Argentina
faces earthquakes in the San Miguel de Tucuman and Mendoza areas
in the Andes. There are violent windstorms that can strike the
Pampas and northeast.
