TRANSPORTATION
Air
Chile's international airport is the Comodoro
Arturo Merino Benitez Airport in Pudahuel, which is about 10 miles
from Santiago. There are frequent flights from most countries
in the world. From the domestic terminal of the airport there
are flights to most major cities within Chile. Airport transfers
include shuttle buses and taxis.

Train and Subway
Another cheap and convenient mode of transport
it’s the train system that links Santiago and the rest of
the country. The Metro subway system is clean, efficient and safe.
It is a great and very inexpensive way to get around Santiago.
Taxi
Some cabs do not have meters and hence it’s
advisable to negotiate and determine the cost to reach your destination
before you enter the taxi. Taxis in town are fairly cheap and
convenient.
Car
Streets in most cities are well organized with
street signs rush hour traffic can be a problem. However the signs,
highway numbers and maps can be confusing. It is possible to rent
a car from various agencies and is not very expensive. Most highways
are in good condition with gas stations, motels, stores and other
facilities along the way. The Panamericana route is the backbone
of Chile’s highway system almost running along the entire
length of the country with tolls along several segments.
