WEATHER
Chile has different climatic
zones since the country extends so far from north to south. The
northern part with the Atacama Desert has an arid climate and
the south is very cool and wet. The central region has a more
temperate climate. December and January are summer months and
July and August are winter months since the country lies beneath
the equator. Central Chile has its monsoon and occasional snow
in the winter months with increasing rainfall as you head south.
January and February is the best time to travel to Chile.
The average temperatures range
from about 65° F in the summer months of December and January
to 45° F in July and August. With a minimum temperature of
about 38° F and a maximum of about 78° F.
