HOST FAMILIES
We
highly recommend that students take advantage of homestays in
order to practice what they learn in class with their family
at home. It is also the best way to learn about the local culture.
For this reason, the vast majority of our students stay with
one of our excellent host families.
Accommodation includes breakfast and dinner during the week
and also lunch on the weekend. Note: It is
possible to opt out of any meals and get a reduced price on
your program. After receiving your housing form with your application,
we will fax or e-mail you the details regarding your host family
at least two weeks before you leave home. We assign only one
student per family so you will have no option but to practice
your Spanish.

HOST FAMILY PROFILE:

All
families are carefully screened and must meet the Spanish language school's
stringent requirements before being accepted as a host family.

All
of the host families are middle-class and live in homes and
areas that are attractive.

Many
of our families have been in our study abroad program for
many years and have consistently received excellent student
evaluations.

Many
are single parent families.

The
ages of children in the families range from a few years old
to adults.

Some
homestays are without children.

Distances
from the schools vary from a few minutes walk to a 30 minute
bus ride, due to the size of the cities.

Students
have their own rooms and sometimes a private bathroom also.

Students
are given a key to the house and are free to come and go as
they please, but need to respect the routine of the family
they are staying with.
The school has many
different types of host families and they try to select the
best match for you.
APARTMENTS & HOTELS
For
those individuals who do not want to stay with a host family,
the school offers an apartment option. Under this option you
will get your own bedroom in an apartment. You will share the
common areas with either other students or locals. The apartments
are basic but functional. Typically most apartments are a relatively
short distance from the school.
If none of the above options
are of interest, there are numerous hotels available within
a short distance of the school. There are many different types
of hotels with different amenities that you may choose from.
If you would like to stay at a hotel we can select one and reserve
a room for you based upon the price range you give us.
