NEARBY BEACHES

Playa Flamingo is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The beach is located approximately 40 miles from the small town of Liberia and tucked between two other nice beaches: Play Potrero and Playa Brasilito. It is a long white beach which is great to relax on. Nearby is the marina which is home to some sport fishing boats. Today the area is home to some large hotels and rather large homes of both Costa Ricans and foreigners.

PLAYA BRASILITO BEACH

Located a short distance from Playa Flamingo, Play Brasilito is a nice beach that is popular with tourist and locals. The sands are nice and the water is great in this area.

PLAYA POTRERO BEACH

To the immediate north of Playa Flamingo lies Playa Potrero. This beach is at least 2 miles long and is made up of soft gray sand. The water is great for swimming. The beach can be busy on the weekends, but tends to be pretty quiet during the weekdays. Just north of the beach is an area well known for an abundance of wildlife. A visit will offer the visitor to see monkeys, birds, and much more!

PLAYA AZÚCAR BEACH

Playa Azucar is a small and relatively secluded beach. The sands are nice and the waters are beautiful. It is a great place to spend the day enjoying the sun! Swimming is nice and many come to the beach to do some snorkeling as well.
