COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: CPI
When
you attend CPI, you can do more than just learn Spanish. You can
play an active role in the development of three different Costa
Rican communities. CPI is a family owned and community oriented
Spanish language school. We provide first rate language instruction
and we also try to support the local communities and families
in which our students live. CPI is involved in community projects
that benefit each of our host cities: Heredia, Monteverde and
Flamingo.
In
Heredia, CPI sponsors a youth soccer team, Equipo CPI. CPI has
donated uniforms and transportation for the team. We hope to develop
a future Costa Rican soccer star on our team! CPI Heredia works
closely with the Hospital of Heredia and other social service
agencies to place interested volunteers. In January CPI Heredia
will sponsor a Red Cross workshop for mothers and childcare providers.
The workshop will concentrate on first aid for babies and children.
In
Monteverde, CPI assists in the placement of volunteers in the
local public and private elementary and high schools. CPI also
helps place students in local development agencies in Monteverde.
