ENTERTAINMENT
Playa
Jaco isn't short on bars. One of the most romantic bars is the
classy La bruja, which has live music on Fridays, and also plays
classics from the 70's. The modern Bar Zarpe in Plaza jaco is
also lively, with theme nights like karakoe on Tuesdays.
You'll find the ritzy Banana
Republic two blocks south. Billiards? Check out El Recreo, 150
feet south and across the street from Banco Nacional; This offbeat
pool hall has an video arcade.
The real action happens at
Cocodrillo's Disco, beside the beach, spell binding flashing lights,
bumping techno music that lures dancers like lemmings on a mission.
The other discos of choice are Disco La Central, and Terraza el
Hicaco, both at the south end of town, with a popular beach front
bar.
JUNGLE PARK WILDLIFE RESERVE
This center has specialists
who take care of a wide variety of species found in the region
of Jaco. At the center you will find a variety of parrot, toucans,
monkey, crocodiles, plus much more. If you want an up close look
at some of the animals you can visit the petting zoo. Many animals
housed at the center were injured, and so one of the goals of
the reserve it to rehabilitate the animals and then re-release
them into the wild. Part of the center is dedicated to the breeding
of crocs and caimains to be released into the wild. During certain
time of the year you will find university students doing some
research at the center.
