SA Heredia

Our partner Spanish language school (SA Heredia) is centrally located in Santo Domingo de Heredia. From this central and convenient location our students have easy access to central Heredia and are also minutes away from central San Jose. The Spanish language school offers excellent Spanish language programs for beginner to advanced level Spanish students in both group and individual classes. If you can't decide which option to take, you can also select a nice combined Spanish program which includes both group and private instruction.

All Spanish classes last a full 60 minutes, which is uncommon. The Spanish school offers instruction for Spanish students of all levels of Spanish proficiency.

During breaks Spanish students can enjoy the climate either on the terraces or the comfortable gardens. On really nice days it is not uncommon to have some students taking their classes outdoors.

Each of the Spanish language teachers has extensive experience at teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The Spanish language school also provides continual teacher training to further enhance the teachers expertise and provide a great learning environment for our Spanish language students.

The Spanish language school regularly has 25 to 35 students per week within their programs. Students can study in group classes, in private classes, or in combined group and private classes.

In addition to Spanish language instruction the school provides a variety of interesting cultural activities and weekend excursions. The activities and excursions are designed to allow you to discover Costa Rica while at the same time providing more opportunities to practice your Spanish.

Great Option: It is possible to combine classes at this locations with classes at our Playa Tamarindo location. For instance: you can take classes for 2 weeks in Heredia and then take another 2 weeks in Playa Tamarindo. It is a great way to study Spanish in two great locations in Costa Rica.

Update: SA Heredia now has an apartment option. You can either share an apartment with other students OR get your own private apartment.

• Just a few miles away from the Heredia location, you will find coffee plantations, beautiful volcanoes, and interesting small villages.
• Heredia has a vibrant and exciting nightlife.
• Heredia is not the major final destination for most tourists visiting Costa Rica. This means that you will come into contact with few tourists and therefore have more opportunity to practice your Spanish and learn about the local culture.
• Heredia is only 20 minutes away from downtown San Jose.
• Almost any location within Costa Rica is only 4 hours away by public transportation from Heredia.

Group 4 Spanish Program: Study Spanish for 4 lessons per day (5 students max per group). All classes will be in groups with a maximum 5 students per class, 20 lessons per week. Each lesson is 60 minutes in length. Spanish students will have highly structured grammar lessons, interactive activities, conversation and written exercises. You will begin with a Spanish proficiency exam that will properly place you in the Spanish level appropriate to your ability to speak Spanish. Learn Spanish in Heredia

Group 6 Spanish Program: Similar in structure to the Standard Spanish Program, this program however includes 2 extra lessons per day of Spanish language instruction. It is perfect if you want or need a more intensive Spanish language program.

Private Program: Study Spanish for 4-6 lessons per day (private instruction). If you need to learn Spanish fast, this is your best choice. This program is a private 4-6 lesson course directed towards the student's individual needs. It is designed for people who need to learn as much Spanish as possible in a short period of time or prefer something very intensive, and is structured to meet the student's specific needs regarding grammar, vocabulary, and culture.

Combined Classes: Study Spanish 6 lessons per day (4 lessons per day in the small group setting, and 2 lessons per day of private classes). The morning section is identical to the Standard Group Program. However in the afternoon the student will receive an additional 2 lessons of individual instruction. This is an ideal program for individuals who require specialized instruction, or just want something more intensive.
