SANTO DOMINGO: TRANSPORTATION
Santo Domingo is a large city of about 2 million
inhabitants. Getting around the city however is easy as there
are abundant local transportation options.
Taxis
Taxis can be found throughout
the city. By North American or European standards they are very
inexpensive. There does not seem to be any one style or color
used. However taxis typically have some type of marking indicating
that they are a taxi. Most do not have any type of meter so negotiating
a price is necessary. You will want to do the BEFORE you get into
the taxi, not after you arrive. Check with the locals as to what
the going rate is when traveling somewhere.
Please
note that additional info (prices, activities, etc) are found
to the right of this pages.
