By Air
The local airport is called Aeropuerto Mariscal
Lamar. The airport is located on the outskirts of the city just
a few minutes away from the main bus terminal. The airport has
daily flights to and from both Quito and Guayaquil. From Quito
the cost of a ticket is less than $100 and the travel time is
about 40 minutes.

Taking the Bus or Taxi
Buses are pretty common in Cuenca are a great
and very cheap way to get around the city. A ride on the bus will
typically cost you less than 24 cents.
Getting to and from Cuenca by bus is not a problem.
The are numerous daily buses between Cuenca and a vareity of other
towns and cities in Ecuador. A trip to Guayaquil is about 6 hours
and a trip to Quito is about 12 hours. Check with the school for
bus schedules.
Taxis are plentiful in Cuenca as well. Most rides
will only cost you a dollar or two. Always agree on a price before
getting into the taxi.
Rental Cars
If you want to rent a car in Cuenca there are
a variety of agencies available. We however recommend that you
do not rent a car. Public transportation offers less hassle, can
get you anywhere you want to go and is a lot cheaper. If however
you decide to rent a car check with the school to see which agency
they recommend.
