Family Spanish Program

Spanish Abroad, Inc. is proud to offer a Family Spanish Program that will provide the normal Spanish Program available to all of our students in Nerja, Spain. This particular family Spanish program is geared towards families of 2 or more students. This can include Mom and/or Dad and one or more children. Children must be at least 7 years and older to participate in children's Spanish classes.

Nerja, Spain is a perfect location for a Family immersion program as its quaint size of only 20,000 inhabitants provides a cozy beach location with a variety of beach related activities. With around 10 miles of beaches you can be swimming day, horse-back riding the next day, and still have a wide array of ocean related activities to choose from.

Nerja is less than one hour from the Málaga Airport and almost equidistant from the famous Andalusian cities of Granada, Seville, Córdoba, Ronda, and just across from the coast of Morocco, Nerja is known world-wide for its open welcome to all people and for its spectacular Caves.

Arrival Into Nerja, Spain
Your family will be expected to arrive on a Sunday into Malaga, Spain. We can pre-arrange an airport pickup for the entire family for $150. This trip takes 60 minutes.

If you would prefer to make your own arrangements you can take a bus from Malaga to Nerja. You can take a bus from Málaga airport to the Central Bus Station in Málaga. There is a service every 20 minutes. You can then take a bus from the Málaga Bus Station to Nerja, there are buses every 75 minutes (last departure 11:00PM) with a journey time of 90 minutes.

Family Spanish Courses

Adult Spanish Course:

This Adult Spanish program consists of Spanish classes with a maximum of 8 students per teacher. Spanish courses are held in the morning and afternoon with four Spanish lessons per day. The Spanish class designates 2 lessons to Spanish conversation and 2 lessons to Spanish grammar and vocabulary.

Children Spanish Course:
The children’s Spanish course is structured and costs the same as the adult Spanish course. Children that are 15 and over will be placed in the adult Spanish course according to their Spanish language level if there are not other teens around the same age and at the same Spanish level. If you have 2 or more children less than the age of 15 years old in the family Spanish program they will be placed together with an instructor if there are no other children at the school at the same time as your family. The Spanish instructor will gear the materials and the Spanish course content towards a lesson plan more appropriate to the individual chid's age and language level. We will schedule the children to take their Spanish courses at the same time as their parents.

Family Program Accommodations

Host Family
Make the most of your stay in Nerja and benefit from being able to practice your Spanish after school. Living with one of our carefully chosen Spanish families enables you to learn more about our culture and customs, to sample home cooked local cuisine, and to use the language in its most natural form. Two meals are provided each day (Breakfast and Dinner). We can arrange for your entire family to stay with one family or we can provide multiple host families for each family member. Accommodations are arranged to start on a Sunday Night and end on a Saturday (Friday Night Included).

Private Apartment
The apartments for the Family Spanish Program in Nerja, Spain are located in a recently developed building and have four apartments, a terrace, and a pool. There are two one-bedroom apartments that can accommodate 2 Spanish students and 2 two-bedroom apartments for up to four people. The apartments available for the Family Spanish Program in Nerja, Spains are fully-equipped and offer the convenience of a hotel, with the privacy of an individual apartment. All the rooms are kept to the highest standard of maintenance and cleanliness.

Beaches, markets, restaurants and all main attractions in Nerja are within walking distance of the building.

The Nerja Family Spanish progam apartment accommodations include:
• Gas, Electricity and Water
• Weekly Maid Service, linen and towel change
• Washing machine (inside each apartment)
• Satellite Television

Family Progam Apartment accommodations in Spain are arranged to start on a Sunday Night and end on a Saturday (Friday Night Included).

Hotels
We can arrange hotel accommodations in Nerja Spain upon requestin conjunction with the child Spanish courses and the adult Spanish courses at the Spanish language school in Nerja, Spain.

Activities and Excursions in Nerja, Spain
The Family Spanish Program we do not include any activities or excursions. The school will still offer their normal ala carte activities and excursions of which some activities are free. We cannot guarantee that any one particular activity or excursion will be available as they are not arranged in advance.

Family Spanish Program Pricing
Family Spanish Program costs are based on the normal Spanish course and accommodation cost. Airfare to Malaga is not included in the cost of the program. The Family Program in Nerja, Spain is arranged for 2 or 4 weeks only. If your child is 15 and older and you want them in Adult Group Courses, pricing will be based on the adult Spanish course pricing.

Payment and refund conditions for the Family Spanish Program in Nerja, Spain

Payment of Balance To Spanish Abroad
Spanish Abroad must receive full payment of the balance of the program cost four weeks before the start date of the Family Spanish program. This must be paid by personal check. If the balance of payment is not made on the date four weeks prior to the start date of their program the student’s program will be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeit.

Upon receipt of the balance of payment, Spanish Abroad will issue a finalized confirmation packet and invoice. This will include all information about the program, itinerary, any changes, and information about Spain and what the student needs to bring. If after having received this confirmation packet, you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us immediately.

Registration
To register and hold a spot for this program you must:
• Call 1-888-722-7623 and speak with one of our Family Spanish Program Advisors to Register over the phone.
• You will be asked to place a $50 per person registration fee, which is non-refundable fee and is separate from the program cost.
• You will receive confirmation within 72 hours of registration. An invoice along with other important information will be sent by email upon confirmation of the program.

Cancellation Policy
Spanish Abroad will refund 100% of the deposit amount up until 2 weeks prior to the start of the program.

Once we receive full payment for the program, we will refund 50% of the total amount.

Once the program has begun there is NO refund of the program price. Unless on account of medical emergency, certified by a doctor or hospital. In all such cases the amount refunded will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation of the program must be in writing, either by e-mail or letter. By registering for the program by phone as well as authorizing payment for the deposit to Spanish Abroad you are declaring that you have read and agree to this statement and policies as written and intended.
