Family Spanish Program

Spanish Abroad, Inc. is proud to offer a Family Spanish Program that will provide the normal Spanish Program available to all of our students in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This particular Spanish family program is geared towards families of 2 or more students. This can include Mom and/or Dad and one or more children. Children must be at least 6 years and older to attend the Spanish school for children in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

No beach resort better typifies the classic Mexican beach vacation than Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. From its sleepy, seaside village roots, it has grown into one of Mexico's most loved destinations. Puerto Vallarta provides round-the-clock activity (or blissful seclusion), sophisticated amenities, and a romantic, dreamlike natural setting. It is considered the ideal vacation spot for the first-time Mexico visitors, while also boasting enough diversity and activity to keep people coming back over and over again.

Families love the fact that the outdoor recreation is limitless for children and parents alike. Every imaginable water sport is available along Vallarta's miles of sandy shore. Puerto Vallarta's dining and nightlife are excellent. Shopping is Mexico's finest, thanks to a bevy of Mexican and international artists that make Puerto Vallarta, Mexico their home. There are also some great day trips, either by boat or on land. Puerto Vallarta is one of the ideal locations for a Family Spanish Program.

Arrival Into Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Your family's flight will be expected to arrive on a Sunday into Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We will pre-arrange an airport pickup. The cost for the pickup is $25 for all family members.

Family Spanish Courses in Mexico

Adult Spanish Course:

The Family Spanish program consists of classes with a maximum of 5 students per teacher. Family Spanish Courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and are composed of three lessons of conversational Spanish grammar. Afternoon Spanish classes may be offered in times of high enrollment.

The staff of professional Mexican Spanish teachers, with many years of teaching experience, are specially trained to maximize the students´ learning potential. All the Spanish instructors have taken courses on Spanish as a Second Language, and some have Education, Business Administration and Marketing degrees. Each Spanish instructor is amply qualified to instruct, but our instructors are also unique in their patience, attentiveness and eagerness to interact with and assist students, all of which creates a comfort level and friendship between student and teacher.

Children Spanish Course:

The Spanish school for children in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico will be offering two week children's Spanish group courses at the same prices as the adult Spanish program for the start dates of June 23rd and July 7th. We will offer the Spanish courses for children from 6 to 15 years old. The Spanish language school in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico will be offering the 15 Spanish lessons per week program from 9:00 until 11:50 a.m. We will arrange the parent’s Spanish courses to take place at the same time as their children.

For all other dates, the spanish school that offers the children’s Spanish program consists of private Spanish instruction with one of the school’s experienced Spanish instructors. The children will have 3 Spanish lessons of instruction during the afternoon from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. During the low season we can some times arrange for this Spanish instruction to take place at the same time as the parent’s group Spanish classes. Semi-Private Spanish instruction is also an option if you have more than one child that can share a Spanish instructor. The Spanish instructors focus the Spanish class more towards the learning style and subjects of interest for children.

Family Program Accommodations

Host Family

The host family option offered by the Spanish language school in Puerto Vallarta provides the true immersion experience for the Family Spanish program. The Mexican host families are patient and extend themselves to help our students learn Spanish. Children and parents staying with a host family, are totally immersed in the Mexican culture and have the opportunity to practice Spanish daily. The family provides breakfast, dinner. Laundry service is available at an additional cost. You will need to arrange your own lunch at any particular restaurant near the school. With advance notice the host families can meet special dietary needs, including those of vegetarians and vegans. All host family accommodations for the family Spanish program in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico are arranged as shared room unless private rooms are requested or there are is an odd number of family members, which requires an additional fee to arrange a private room.

Students are always a welcome guest in a home stay and have a wonderful opportunity to practice the Spanish language, learn about Mexican culture and, in turn, share their culture with the family. Most host families are located within 30 minutes walking of the Spanish language school in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. If your family is further than 30 minutes walking distance, we can discuss alternative options to walking.

We can arrange hotel accommodations upon request on a customized basis.

Family Spanish Program Activities and Excursions
With the Family Spanish Program we do not include any activities or excursions. The Spanish language school in Puerto Vallarta, Mexicol will still offer their normal ala carte activities and excursions of which some activities are free. We cannot guarantee that any one particular activity or excursion will be available as they are not arranged in advance.

Family Spanish Program Cost 2008
Program costs are based on the normal course and accommodation cost. Airfare to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is not included in the cost of the program.

Registration Deadline
All registrations must be received at least 2 months prior to the start of your program or we cannot guarantee availability of the program.

Start Dates
The Standard Family Spanish Program courses start every Monday as long as availability permits. The children’s group courses will be held for 2 weeks on March 31st, July 7th and July 21st.

Registration & Payment Conditions
The registration process and payment for this program is different than our other programs.

The following payment and refund conditions apply for the Family Spanish Program in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Payment of Balance To Spanish Abroad
Spanish Abroad must receive full payment of the balance of the program cost twelve weeks before the start date of the Family Spanish program in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. This must be paid by personal check. If the balance of payment is not made on the date twelve weeks prior to the start date of their program the student’s program will be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeit.

Upon receipt of the balance of payment, Spanish Abroad will issue a finalized confirmation packet and invoice. This will include all information about the program, itinerary, any changes, and information about Mexico and what the student needs to bring. If after having received this confirmation packet, you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us immediately.

Registration
To register and hold a spot for this program you must:
• Call 1-888-722-7623 and speak with one of our Family Spanish Program Advisors to Register over the phone.
• You will be asked to place a $50 per person registration fee, which is non-refundable fee and is separate from the program cost.
• You will receive confirmation within 72 hours of registration. An invoice along with other important information will be sent by email upon confirmation of the program.


Cancellation Policy

Once we receive full payment for the program, we will refund 50% of the total amount.

Once the program has begun there is NO refund of the program price. Unless on account of medical emergency, certified by a doctor or hospital. In all such cases the amount refunded will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
