Host Families
To
truly immerse students in the Guatemalan culture, the Spanish
language school carefully chooses the families with whom the
students will live while in Antigua.
The families provide the Spanish students
with 3 daily meals, except on Sundays. Living with a host family
in Antigua also gives students the opportunity to taste delicious
home cooked meals. You should expect as many as 5-7 other students
in the Antigua home. You will have a private room, but will
be required to share the common areas including the bathrooms
with other individuals in the home. The host families are middle
class by Guatemala standards, which is usually less than middle
class in North America.
Student Residence
The student residence provides students that don't want to stay with a host family, an affordable alternative to a hotel or apartment. Students staying at the residence will receive 3 meals per day except on Sundays. The student residence provides both private and double bed rooms. A communal kitchen is provided for students that want to keep things in the refrigerator for snacks and drinks. There are four shared bedrooms, two private bedrooms, and three shared bathrooms on site. The residence also provides a computer area for students that want to check the internet.
