Antigua has received many medical students coming to study Spanish through private instruction. You will find many medical professionals and students from all over the world relaxing in Antigua's cafes during the day when there is some down time. You can also find them enjoying the night life after a long day in classes and working or shadowing at a clinic.

Many of our medical Spanish students take the opportunity to gain experience either shadowing or working hands on in one of the local clinics. The programs we have developed are based on over a decade of experience in sending medical students and professionals to Antigua.

We have narrowed down the key aspects for a medical Spanish program that we feel are most important to our medical students. Our program provides the best value, while at the same time fitting in an intensive Medical Spanish course study and Medical volunteer / shadowing opportunities based on your experience in the medical field. All students must provide a CV/Resume upon registration or soon after so we can verify what volunteer / shadowing options are available to you.

It is quite easy for us to customize the courses to Medical Spanish since all courses offered in Antigua are through private instruction. You will be one on one with your instructor and can choose from a 4-6 hour lesson plan. It is important to note that if you are volunteering or shadowing in addition to courses, it is best to stick with the 4 lessons per day program to make your daily load more managable as a 4 lesson per day Spanish program is very intensive. All of our programs listed below include the 4 lesson per day option.

Medical Spanish Course Options

Option #1: Medical Students and Professionals
This particular Medical Spanish course in Antigua includes Private courses with 4 lessons per day where you will improve your overall Spanish level and can customize your time based on the amount of medical terminology you would like to focus on. In addition to the course load you will also shadow in a local clinic for 3-4 days per week at around 2-3 hours per day. This course is best for all medical students and those medical professionals that have a low level of Spanish proficiency.

Option #2: Medical Professionals
This medical Spanish course provides the same instruction as offered in the first option. This medical program varies in that you will gain hands on experience in a local Antigua clinic. This program is only availble to medical professionals with at least a years worth of work experience in a medical-based field and have an intermediate to advanced level of Spanish proficiency. The amount of time in the clinic can vary depending on your request but generally includes 5 days per week with 4 hours of work experience each day.
