Bocas del Toro Overview
Bocas
del Toros is a series of islands located in and around the Bay
of Chiriqui which itself is situated along the northestern coast
of Panama. Despite the increasing popularity of Panama, today
Bocas del Toro still remains relatively untouched by tourism.
As such a visitor will find that the area is still an untouched
and pristine beauty. Bocas del Toro is known for deep sea fishing,
kayaking, diving and snorkeling, pristine beaches, stunning coral
reefs, abundant plant and animal life, plus much more!
Please note
that additional info (prices, activities, etc) are found to the
right of this pages.
Our partner Spanish language school is located
on the island known as Isla Colon. We feel that if you want to
get to know this region of Panama, this is the place to be. The
main town offers a range of options for individuals interested
in outdoor activities. Today one can find at least three PADI
dive shops, an abundance of restaurants and bars, boat operators
(both for cruises and deep sea fishing), tour operators and bicycle
rentals.
The
options for tours and excursions seem endless. One popular tour
involves crusing the islands in a 35 foot catamaran. The tour
will take you sightseeing past beautiful rainforest covered islands
and will stop along the way so that participants can snorkle or
dive and some of the pristine coral reefs. The trip will include
a fabulous tropical lunch on a deserted white sand beach. Following
that there is a hike through the rainforest which allows participants
to see monkeys, toucans, sloths, parrots and much more! This is
an example of what is possible when you come out to Bocas del
Toro!
Overall Bocas del Toro is one of the best places
to go anywhere in the world to experience nature at its finest.
The waters and sealife of course are a main attraction. However
you will be pleasantly suprised at the abundance of plant and
animal life found on each of the small little islands. There is
no doubt that spending a period of time in this part of Panama
will help you forget everything about the outside world.
