GETTING TO PANAMA
Travel to Panama is very easy. Numerous international
flights from around the world fly into Panama City on a daily
basis.
Please note
that additional info (prices, activities, etc) are found to the
right of this pages.
The following information relates to documentation
etc. needed to enter Panama. Please note: You should always
check with the Panamanian consulate in your country to see what
the latest requirements are.
Tourist Cards
Currently US and Canadian citizens only need
a passport and a tourist card to enter Panama. The card costs
less than $10 and you will either get it from your airline, or
more typically upon arrival in Panama City.
A variety of other countries in the EU also fall
into the same category.
For your status you can check this Panamanian
Consulate web page.
The tourist card you receive allows you to stay
in Panama for up to 90 days. If you stay will be longer, please
make sure to go to the Immigration office prior to the end of
your 90 days so you can get a new tourist card. It is relatively
easy to get, but be prepared to stand in line for awhile. Check
with our Spanish language school in Panama for information on
where these offices are and how to do the necessary paperwork.
The staff will be more than happy to assist you.
Visas & Other Documentation
Citizens of certain countries are required to get a Visa in order
to enter Panama. Once again we refer you to this Panamanian
Consulate web page to determine your status.
Departing Panama
When you get ready to leave Panama please be aware of the fact
that there is a $20 departure tax. You will need to pay in cash.
Note: The amount of tax can change, so be prepared with some extra
cash just in case.
