Group Spanish Immersion Program in
Oaxaca, Mexico
Oaxaca is a beautiful colonial city located
a little over 300 miles south of Mexico City in the south-east
portion of Mexico. It is a medium sized town with around 300,000
inhabitants calling Oaxaca home. The city owes its fame to the
beauty and harmony of its architecture, the richness of its cultural
traditions, the wide variety of its typical foods, and its climate
which is spring-like throughout the year. In Oaxaca you will find
an incredible mix of both Spanish and indigenous culture.
The center of Oaxaca is made up entirely of
colonial buildings and churches. The Zocalo, the most important
part of any Mexican town, is especially interesting. Surrounding
the area are many sidewalk cafes and restaurants where you can
sit in the sun and enjoy watching the activities in the plaza.
The area is always full of vendors, locals, tourists, and during
the nights, there are always bands playing. In and around the
city itself, there are many different archaeological ruins and
Indian markets, all of which are very well worth a trip.
Becari Spanish Language School
Becari has focused on providing study Spanish
students with the best Spanish immersion experience. Due to the
smaller size of the school, personalized attention is given to
every student. This combined with extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable
teachers makes the entire experience productive and enjoyable
for groups.
Courses
Group Classes 3 Lessons per Day (Maximum 5 Students
per Class)
The four lessons are divided between 2 teachers;
1st school session focuses on specific Spanish language grammar
points through dynamic and interactive language learning and the
2nd session with practice through conversation, speech, and practical
exercises.
Accommodations
Mexican Host Family:
Students will live with local families in order to receive a full
immersion environment. This will allow them to practice their
Spanish in an everyday setting. The host family will provide 3
meals per day for the students which will allow for additional
time to practice their Spanish through conversations at meal time.
There will be up to two students per bedroom and in almost all
cases there will be 2 or more students at one host family.
