Educational & Cultural Tours

In addition to language immersion programs, Spanish Abroad, Inc. is also proud to offer special travel opportunities in a variety of countries. While these tours are not focused on learning a language, they do focus on interesting subjects and help to give participants an interesting insight into the country in question.

You can also combine any of there tours with a language immersion program or you can simply arrange the tour on its own through Spanish Abroad.

These types of tours are seasonal and change every year. Check back for updates about upcoming offerings.

Here are several examples of past future possible tours:

Peruvian Archaeological Dig: “The Land Of Inca” Participants had the opportunity to work on an archaeological site in the Peruvian highlands for a period of two weeks. Following the conclusion of the dig, participants spent 2 days in Cusco, 1 day in Machu Picchu, plus 1 day in Lima. It was a wonderful way to visit Peru and learn about the history of this magnificent country.

The Mayan World: “A Cultural Discovery”: As the name implies, this tour focused on the history and culture of the Mayan people. Participants spent 2 weeks in Guatemala and Mexico visiting small Indian villages, plus stops to places such as Tikal and Palenque. The tour guides were US university professors who specialized in Mesoamerican History.

The People of Nepal: "A Photographic Journey": There are certain parts of the world full of mystery and magic. Nepal is one of those places. This tour was headed by 2 professional photographers with years of experience traveling and photographing in this region of the world. Participants had the chance to learn some new photographic techniques while having the chance to practice their craft in one of the most exotic places in the world.
