Home-stay Accommodation
All
students have the choice to stay with a local host family. This
is the best way to immerse oneself into the Spanish lifestyle
and culture. Many of the host families live in apartments that
are located within 20-25 minutes by foot from the University.
Families are middle class by local standards and students have
a choice to stay in a Double Room or Single Room. The host-family
stay includes 3 meals per day and (if required) a packed lunch
for excursions. At an additional cost the family will include
laundry service.
Cursos
Internacionales will give preference to those families hosting
a maximum of 2 students per month and who foster the integration
of students into their family life. The results of the questionnaires
filled in by each student at the end of each course will also
be evaluated in this sense. In this questionnaire, students will
be asked to give explicit information as to the number of students
that have stayed in the family and to evaluate the hospitality
of their Host Family (meals, hygiene, schedule, integration in
family life).
Students should not leave their
Host families without due cause. In the event that the student
leaves, the Host Family will not be obliged to return the money
corresponding to the days remaining to complete the week and neither
shall Cursos Internacionales be obliged to find other accommodation
for students in this situation.
With respect to hours, visits,
use of the house key, etc., each Host Family will establish its
own customs. The Host Family may attempt to accommodate the customs
of the students to a certain extent, but this in no way means
that the Host Family must alter its own life style or house rules.
Students should remember that since they are living abroad they
are expected to follow the customs of the country and family accommodating
them.
It should be noted that in
no case is the Host Family obliged to admit guests to spend the
night with the students it is accommodating. If any problems should
arise, the student should contact Cursos Internacionales of the
University of Salamanca. |
