Barcelona gained world wide recognition by hosting the Olympics and is now one of the most visited locations in Spain. Barcelona is an architectural wonderment and offers world class museums.
It is quite a large city for a teen progam which is why the Spanish school in Barcelona limits their teen program to students that are 15 to 17 years of age. These students must still be mature for their age to ensure they have a safe and fun trip while taking courses at the Barcelona teen Spanish program.
The Spanish language school
that hosts the Spanish summer course for teens is centrally
located and within close walking distance to the metro station and bus stops for quick and easy transportation to accommodations or any site in Barcelona. The Spanish school has been in existence for over 15 years and provides experienced instructors as well as a pool of dependable and welcoming host families.
 The teen Spanish program in Barcelona is ideal for high school
students as it combines learning Spanish with a wide range of
(mainly outdoor) activities. All high school students
are placed in an authentic Spanish environment from day one, so
they receive the greatest educational experience.
Barcelona Teen Program Spanish Courses
The Teen Spanish classes are held in the morning from 9:00 AM to 12:25 AM with a maxium of 12 students per class. Spanish students will receive
4 classes per day with each Spanish lesson lasting 45
minutes each. The main focus of the courses are conversational Spanish with an emphasis on vocabulary and grammar principals which make up the biggest part of the spoken language.

The goal of the Barcelona teen summer program is to provide an unforgettable fun-filled experience in Spain. In order to do so the Spanish school in Barcelona offers organized activities and excursions through out the week and on Saturday. These extracurricular activities are included with the teen Summer program and are constructed for this age group which include cultural events, sports and recreation related to Barcelona and Spain in general. Sundays are open for the teens to enjoy their free time with their host families and the other teens that attend the teen Spanish program in Barcelona.

This Spanish Teen Program
in Barcelona includes classes, social and cultural

Barcelona Teen Program Host Family
 The host families that are
assigned for the teen Spanish students enrolled in the Teen Summer
Spanish program in Barcelona are located within 30 minutes walking distance or by public transportation. Host families are selected from a set pool that has been screened and utilized for several years. Only the best host families are chosen to host teens during the teen program.
Due to the size of the city and possible distance it is important that parents understand that their child must be mature enough to best handle his arrangement. The host families provide teens with the means of learning about the local Spanish culture as well as providing real life experience in practicing the Spanish language in every day situations. The
starting date for  the host family accommodations is the Sunday
before the starting date of the course, and accommodations end
on the Saturday after the course ends. Students will be provided with 2 meals per day as well as all amenities in the home. Laundry service is provided once per week.

First week
Monday: orientational talk about the course and Barcelona, followed by a walk around the ancient quarter
Tuesday: relaxing at the swimming pool
Wednesday: visit Sagrada Familia temple, spectacular example of Gaudí’s architecture
Thursday: Spanish movie in the school, later going out dancing
Friday: beach games and swimming
Saturday: excursion to Port Aventura, Spain’s most visited theme park
Second week
Monday: orientational talk about the course and Barcelona, followed by visit to the FC Barcelona stadium Museum
Tuesday: relaxing at the swimming pool
Wednesday: walk to Montjuic castle, with panoramic views of the city
Thursday: visit to the delicious Chocolate Museum
Friday: beach games and swimming
Saturday: excursion to Figueres to visit the unique Salvador Dalí Museum
Barcelona Teen Summer Program
Supervision
Barcelona is a large city, especially in comparison to other cities in Spain. The metro system is very comprehensive and can be taken to all major points
of interest and from the host families to the school. The school will arrange host families within walking distance on a first come first serve basis. The students need to still pay special
attention with their belongings when walking around town but the
city is safe by many standards.
 All
students coming to Barcelona, Spain for the Teen Spanish Program
are expected to have the highest maturity level possible for their
age group. There will be times when students will be unsupervised.
Teens will be supervised when at school, at the host families
home, during activities and excursions.. There are other times
when they are not completely supervised and the students need to be mature in order to act appropriate in these instances.
When travelling to and from school the teens
will not be supervised. Curfew is set at 11PM for all
teens and they will be expected to be at their
respective homes before this time.
Students must follow the rules listed in the
rules form minors form that must be signed and returned prior
to the start of the Teen Spanish Program in Barcelona.
