(Ages 14-17 Years)

The Spanish language school is located in the heart of the historic center of San Sebastián. Nearby you will find the cathedral, the pedestrian walking area, numerous shops, restaurants, bars, and of course the beautiful city beach just 5 minutes away by foot. The Spanish language school was founded in 1980's, and today has established a reputation as an excellent school for high school Spanish students. In 1998 the Spanish school became a part of the prestigious world wide organization known as International House. Today Spanish students enjoy the quality of professionalism and the friendly service the language school offers.

In addition, the language school has recently moved into a newly built building, and as such, the Spanish language school in San Sebastian has some of the nicest facilities you will find anywhere in Spain. Besides well designed classrooms, students will have access to a small library, a multimedia room, and a comfortable break area. This Spanish Language school is a great choice for high school students who want to study Spanish in a unique location during the summer. The Spanish courses at the high school Spanish program in San Sebastian are lively and varied. Conscious of the effort and investment required to learn a language, the Spanish school offers carefully designed Spanish language courses which aim at increasing your capacity to communicate in Spanish as quickly and efficiently as possible, while at the same time ensuring that your learning of the Spanish language is a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Teen Spanish Courses in San Sebastian

The quality of high school Spanish courses is based on a professional team of teachers with a common methodology. In the classroom setting high school students are exposed to 2 different teachers throughout the day. As well as enjoying the beauty, distinctive character and liveliness which San Sebastian has to offer, you will have the opportunity to take part in a varied cultural activity program for summer high school Spanish students, which also includes different full day and weekend excursions. Participating in these various activities will be a great way in which to add to your Spanish learning experience in Spain.

The Spanish language school offers an excellent Junior Summer School option in the summer for high school students aged 14 - 17 years (17 year olds can also be accepted into the adult Spanish program). The summer Spanish program offers 5 lessons per day (Monday through Friday) of small group Spanish language instruction with 6-12 students per class, a varied social/cultural program 4 afternoons a week including sports, cultural visits, parties, films and days at the beach.

High school students attending the San Sebastian Junior Spanish Program will receive 25 Spanish Language and Culture classes each week. The teen Spanish courses are scheduled from from 9:30 to 13:45 Monday to Friday with a variety of different teachers. The format of the teen Spanish instruction is identical to that of the Spanish Program for adults.

High School Student Accommodations

Accommodation includes 3 meals per day for High School students with a specially selected Spanish family (2 students per room). The Spanish language school in San Sebastian tries to place students in homes that are close to the school, about 10-25 minutes by foot and/or public transportation. Host families can consist of a single or widowed host mother with or without children as well as a typical Spanish couple with or without children.

San Sebastian Junior Program Summer Start Dates

The Junior Spanish program is offered during the summer in San Sebastian and will will run from June 2 - August 15. Higher level students can start any Monday during this time. Absolute beginners MUST begin on June 2, June 16, June 30, July 7, July 21 or August 4.

Arrival in San Sebastian for High School Students

If possible, it is best for high school students to arrive directly into San Sebastian. The Spanish language school can arrange a transfer service from the airport, bus, or train stations in San Sebastian (additional cost). Spanish Students can also arrive in Bilbao or Biarritz, France and arrange for a transfer service for an additional cost.

Supervision at the Junior Spanish Program

The Junior Spanish program in San Sebastian provides a moderate amount of supervision for high school students. There will be times when the teens are NOT supervised by members of the staff at the Spanish school. There are several days a week in which the Spanish language school does not offer activities for the high school students. Spanish students attending the Junior program in San Sebastian are expected to be mature and responsible enough to be able to handle themselves appropriately in a foreign country. Students are expected to abide by the school rules and any violations will result in immediate dismissal from the program. High School students do stay with local host families which provides a moderate amount of supervision.
