The
Spanish language school is situated in an ideal location in Seville,
just a stone's throwaway from the Town Hall, the Cathedral and
the Royal Palaces. This strategic location offers high school
students easy access to all major points of interest within Seville.
The school that hosts the teens is completely remodeled and is
housed in a typical Sevillian style building with Roman columns,
a nice central patio, and large sunny terraces. The Spanish school
building has been designed specifically for teaching purposes
and has 25 classrooms, a lending library, a study room, a conference
room, a bookshop specializing in languages with an inventory of
over 1,000 books, an internet room, and is air conditioned.
The teen Spanish lessons at
the Spanish language school are lively and varied. All the Spanish
classes are divided into distinct blocks: the first block deals
with the Spanish language itself, the structures and communicative
functions. The second part deals with concrete cultural themes
in order to develop all the abilities or skills integrally: oral
expression, aural understanding, writing and reading comprehension.
The Spanish classes do not progress in a rapid straight line,
rather globally and in depth.
The Spanish language school
offers an excellent Junior Summer School option for high school
students ages 14-17 years. The program offers 4 Spanish lessons
per day (Monday through Friday) of small group Spanish language
instruction with 6-12 high scho ol
students per class, a varied social/cultural program 4 afternoons
a week including sports, cultural visits, parties, films and days
at a beach in Spain.
In total there are 20+2 classes
of Spanish Language and Culture per week. The teen program timetable
is from 9:15 to 13:00 Monday to Friday with a variety of different
Spanish teachers. The format of Spanish instruction is identical
to that of the Standard Spanish Program for adults.

Accommodations for High School
Students in Sevilla
Accommodation includes 3 meals
per day with a specially selected Spanish family (2 students per
room). The Spanish language school in Sevilla also includes airport
or train transfer on arrival and departure for all teen program
students.

Teen Spanish Program: Arriving
in Sevilla, Spain
The Spanish school offers airport/train station pickup in Sevilla,
Spain for all teens enrolled in the teen Spanish program. If a
student is arriving in Madrid it will be their responsibility
to get to Sevilla.
Supervision for High school
Students in Sevilla
The
teen program in Sevilla, Spain provides a moderate amount of supervision
for high school students. There will be times when Spanish students
are NOT supervised by members of the staff at the school in Sevilla.
High school students attending the teen Spanish program in Sevilla
are expected to be mature and responsible enough to be able to
handle themselves appropriately in a foreign country. Spanish
students are expected to abide by the school rules and any violations
will result in immediate dismissal from the program. High school
students do stay with local host families which provides a moderate
amount of supervision.
