The following is a list of current volunteer
opportunities in Chile
Better Land School
History/Purpose:
The main purpose of this organization is the education of children,
ages 5-8 years old.
Duties could include: Teacher Asst. for English or P.E.
classes; Workshop Monitor (teaching student how to play games);
Showing videos—eliciting answers about them; working with
computer programs; visiting families from La Población
San Antonio to help implement their needs with local authorities
working as Ambassadors making presentations about their hometown,
cultural topics, food, etc.
How: Volunteers will have an interview in Chile to determine
which work is best suited for them and their language abilities.
Public transportation is used to get there: Bus No. 614
on Providencia St.
Typical schedule is twice a week from 3:00 –
5:00 pm, but could be more. Volunteers are required to bring a
resume stating previous volunteer experience.
Colegio San Juan de la
Cruz
History/Purpose:
The main purpose of this organization is the education of children,
ages 3 – 18 years old.
Duties could include: Teacher Asst. in the English dept.,
helping in class, participating in Reading Club; organizing theatre
presentations; making presentations about different topics, Teacher
Asst. for P.E. classes; work in the Spanish dept.
Public transportation is used to get there: Bus No. 418
on M. Montt and Providencia.
This school loves volunteers from American universities.
How: Volunteers
