Culebra
For
those looking for the "perfect" island adventure, Culebra
Island is a great option. For beach or nature lovers, there are
few better options in Puerto Rico. The beaches on the island are
not crowded, the sands are soft, and the waters are pristine.
The waters teem with marine life, so if you like snorkeling you
will enjoy yourself.
The island is less then 7 miles long and has
less then 2,000 inhabitants.

Rincón
This town was names after Don Gonzalo Rincón,
a 16th century landowner. Today this small town is a world famous
surfing destination. For visitors who do not surf, they will still
be amazed by the cystal clear waters and stunning beach. A large
landmark in the area is the El Faro (lighthouse) which warns passing
ships of the dangerous reefs just offshore. Rincón is also
a great jumping off point to other sites of interest on Puerto
Rico.
Patillas
Patillas is well know for its surrounding green
mountains, so much so that today it is referred to as "La
Esmeralda del Sureste". The town in the area is very small,
but it is a great place to use as a base to explore the area.
Patillas is located approximately 1 hour to the east of Ponce.
This area has great beaches, some great hiking, and offers the
chance to see nature at its finest.
