Air
If
flying into Puerto Rico you will land in San Juan at the Luis
Munoz Marin International Airport. The airport is located less
than 10 miles from colonial San Juan, and as such a taxi ride
will cost between $20-25.
A variety of US and international carriers service
the airport, so you will find that getting to Puerto Rico should
not present any difficulty. Additionally San Juan is a great jumping
off point to other islands in the Caribbean.
Please note
that additional info (prices, activities, etc) are found to the
right of this pages.
Road
Public transportation on Puerto Rico is pretty
good. In San Juan there is excellent bus and taxi service. Bus
service runs throughout the day and there is an extensive series
of routes. If you are planning on going outside of San Juan, you
will once again find extensive and inexpensive bus service that
will allow you to get to most part of Puerto Rico in a short period
of time.
Taxis are very common. All have meters, so make
sure the driver uses it. If you want to rent a car, this is very
easy. All the major car rental agencies have offices on the island.
Your US drivers license is valid.
Ferries
There is ferry service from the port of Fajardo
to the islands of Culebra and Vieques.
