Host
Family
Accommodation in a host
family allows you to get the maximum out of your course. Many
of the host families that the school employs have worked with
them since the school was founded. The families know from experience
what the role of a host is. Host families are typically NO MORE
than 15 minutes from the school. Madrid has excellent transportation
so getting there is not a problem. Typically there will be another
student in the home with you.
 Nowhere
else will you directly experience real Spanish life and nothing
could be better to help improve your language skills. However
the word 'family' should not be taken too literally, because your
family could also be a single parent who takes in students because
he or she enjoys the company. Sometimes there is also a Spanish
student living with the family.
Please

It is obvious that you will
have to adjust a little to the rules of the house. Apart from
that, you are free to do what you want. You will be given your
own keys, so you can come and go as you please. You will be able
to receive phone calls at home.
It is important to realize
that in Europe many things are smaller than North Americans are
accustomed to: cars, Cokes, and possibly your room. You may arrive
at the home on the Sunday before you classes start and you will
be expected to leave the Saturday after classes are over. It may
be possible to stay extra nights, check with us for details. If
you have special dietary needs, such as vegetarianism, it is possible
for you to stay with a host family that can accommodate this request.
Student Flats
 The
school owns a large flat in the same building as the school. If
you want convenience and comfort this is a great option. The flat
has 7 rooms, 3 baths, living room and kitchen. The school will
require a 100 euro deposit upon arrival that will be returned
to you on your last day when you return the keys, provided the
room is in the same condition as on the day you moved in.
- The flat is equipped with television, washing machine, refrigerator,
microwave and heat.
- Each room has Internet connection.
- All utilities are included (gas, water, electricity and maintenance
fees).
Private Studio Apartments
 If
you do not want to share accommodations with other students are
stay with a host family then consider staying in your own private
studio. The studios are clean, convenient and very inexpensive.
- The studios are 2 minutes (walking distance) from the school.
- There are 12 studios available close to the school. They consist
of a bedroom/living room, a bathroom, and a full kitchen.
- We require a deposit of 100 euros to reserve a studio. It
will be returned to you on your last day when you return the
keys, provided the studio is in the same condition as on the
day you moved in.
- All studios are equipped with television, air conditioning,
heat, washing machine, refrigerator, and oven or microwave.
- Telephones are not provided, but students may install a phone
on their own. Better yet just rent a cell phone.
- The studios are furnished as singles.It is however possible
for 2 people traveling together to share a studio.
Private 2 Bedroom Apartments
 Finally:
If you do not want to share accommodations with other students,
stay in a host family and prefer something larger than a studio,
you can rent your own private apartment. There can be very limited
availability for these apartments. If you want one you should
plan on registering FAR IN ADVANCE to get one.

There are also 5 apartments available close
to the school. They consist of two bedrooms, a living room,
a kitchen, and either two full baths, one full bath and one
half-bath, or a half-bath.

These can be reserved depending upon their
availability.

We require a deposit of 100 euros to reserve
an apartment. It will be returned to you on your last day
when you return the keys, provided the apartment is in the
same condition as on the day you moved in.

The apartments are equipped with television,
washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioning, oven or microwave,
and heat.

Telephones are not provided, but students
may install a phone on their own.

The rent for the apartment includes all
utilities (gas, water, electricity and maintenance fees).

The apartments are walkiing distance to
the school and to the Puerta del Sol.
