Madrid's Geographical
Location
 Madrid
is centered directly in the middle of the country on a high plateau
rising 1,232 feet above sea level. This centralized location was
chosen in 1561 by King Philip II to unify the regions and centralize
power. Other than its central location the geographical region
is not particularly advantageous to live in.
How to get to Madrid
Madrid's centralized location
in Spain and the fact that it is the capital and largest city
makes it very easy to get to. Almost all major international flights
arrive at the Madrid Barajas International airport. From the airport
there are two ways to get to the school.

Barajas airport is 13km (eight
miles) from Madrid's city center. Madrid's three terminals serve
22 million passengers per year. Terminal one handles all international
flights except for Iberia flights to Austria, Belgium, France,
Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal. Terminal
two serves domestic flights and the Iberia international flights
listed above. The new terminal three is used primarily for the
Madrid-Barcelona shuttle.
Major airlines: In
addition to Spain's national airline Iberia, over 50 airlines
serve Barajas, including Air France, Alitalia, American Airlines,
British Airways, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines,
and Thai Airways International.
