Host Family
Living with a family is
a good way to be in touch with every day life in Spain. It provides
the opportunity to experience first hand the differences in living
arrangements and standards. Available are single bedrooms with
private or shared bathroom. Services include: Breakfast daily
and dinner Monday through Friday; cleaning; one load of washing
a week; ironing facilities; and telephone for incoming calls only.
Bed linens and towels provided. Kitchen use and guests visits
may be restricted or not allowed.
No air-conditioning.
Life
in a Spanish family can be a great learning experience if you
keep in mind that he word “family” should not be taken
literally, as it could simply mean that your host may be a single
parent who takes in students because he/she enjoys the company.
Sometimes a Spanish student also lives with the family
.It is obvious that you will
have to adjust a little to the rules of the house. Remember too,
that Spanish people have different eating habits. Apart from that,
you are free to do what you want. You will be given your own set
of keys, so you can come and go as you please. You will be able
to receive phone calls in the home.
Shared flats
A good value for the money, shared accommodations
provide freedom and flexibility. You will have your own room in
a flat with Spaniards or international students. You will share
kitchen, cleaning and access to laundry facilities. Some flats
with no phone, others allowing incoming calls only. Once again
standards may be different to what you are accustomed to. Recommended
for students between 25-35 years old. Private or shared bathroom,
with bed linen provided but no towels. No guests allowed. No air
conditioning. The flats are located within 10 to 30 minutes walking
distance from the Spanish school.
