Seville
is the capital of the region of Andalusia. It is one of the most
historical and commercially important cities in Spain.
Seville is a busy yet relaxing and charming city,
with its small balconies overflowing with
geraniums, countless historic buildings, narrow streets,
small plazas, beautiful parks, and gardens is a great place to
explore and absorb the culture and language. Bullfights, street
musicians and Flamenco dances are daily celebrations. Sevilla
combines the wealth of history and culture with its modern business
facilities and shopping centers.
Cordoba
Córdoba
is an extremely beautiful city full of culture and relics of the
moorish empire. It was once the capital of the Al-Andalus region
conquered by the muslims. Several mosques from that era still
exist including the 8th-century mosque with painted columns and
arches that is so magnificent that it was preserved by the christian
rulers that later took over. Cordoba's old quarter is a maze of
narrow streets with white buildings, balconies and patios full
of beautiful flowers and several historic buildings.
Granada
Granada
is a large university town, with quaint little homes, shops, bars,
and restaurants. The architecture of Granada has preserved the
legacy of the muslim occupation in Spain. There are plenty of
activities like flamenco, music, art, and the theater. It is definitely
well worth a visit.
The area surrounding Granada also offers many
interesting options. The snow covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada
and the inviting and sunny beaches of the Costa del Sol are favorite
destinations for tourists.
Barcelona
Barcelona,
on the foot of the Mount Montjuic, is the capital of Catalonia.
It is a Mediterranean city, not only
because of its location and pleasant climate but also because
of its history, tradition and culture. Great architectural works
by Antoni Gaudi, Lluís Domènech i Montaner
and other modernist Architects dominate the cityscape. La Rambla
is a great tree canopied parkway, rich in tradition and history
and is usually crowded with performers, artists and vendors. The
beaches of Barcelona attract a lot of visitors every year. Apart
from being very clean the beaches offer several facilities including
disabled access, beach lifeguards, sun beds, tents, umbrellas
and showers.
San Sebastian
San
Sebastian is one of the most fashionable and popular Spanish seaside
resorts made impressive with its spectacular views of La Concha
Bay. Summers here are great for relaxing in the warm sunny weather
on the beach. |
