Towards the end of February and beginning of March the region

processions.
Also, in Galicia the liveliest of the mass gatherings
are the romerías (religious processions to a rural shrine),
which normally feature fairs and dances too. The most popular
ones in Santiago are San Lázaro, on March 17 and 18, and
San Marcos and San Pedro Mártir, on April 24 and 29 respectively.
There are a variety of other cultural events
held off and on throughout the year. Check with the staff at the
Spanish language school to find out what the upcoming events are.
