Following are the Spanish
courses among which the students can choose:
Extra Conversation and Grammar
This
is an additional Spanish language course generally aimed at two
types of students. Firstly, those who have certain difficulties
in assimilating the contents of the morning Spanish classes but
who wish to continue in the same group by studying more and revising
what they have covered in class and, secondly, those who wish
to speed up the learning process in order to move up to a higher
level. In both cases the students are highly motivated and concerned
about their learning process. It is possible to enrol in this
course after trying the first course that you have chosen.
Business Spanish Language
Courses
In addition to the chosen
course, there are 10 classes a week in small groups. Ideal for
those that need to supplement their studies in Spanish with basic
knowledge about the business environment. Although the content
of the Spanish language course is adapted to the specific needs
of the students, topics will include negotiation, the telephone,
business correspondence, as well as a general overview of the
company structure and the socio-economic situation in Spain. The
majority of students who choose this course are already working
or are looking for a job where Spanish is likely to be the second
language of doing business.
Hispanic studies
Specially
designed for those who wish to study everything related to the
history of the Spanish language and literature. Students who opt
for this course can negotiate the specific course contents with
their teachers (specialists in Hispanic Philology): dialects,
history of the language, contemporary literature and so on. This
course can be combined with a general or intensive Spanish course.
The level of Spanish of students who choose to study this course
is generally very high.
Spanish at the teacher's
home
This combines all the advantages of the typical
Spanish course with the possibility of living in a family environment
oriented towards the actual learning process. In other words the
teacher's home becomes the classroom and the student is in the
ideal environment to put into practice everything that they have
learnt. As the teacher lives with the student they discover the
skills and needs of the student that would take longer to identify
in just a classroom setting. In addition, the teacher can help
the student in their choice of cultural visits as well as accompany
them to the school so that they can take part in the cultural
activities along with the rest of the students.
Business Spanish Courses
The
Spanish language school in Sevilla (Seville) Spain as an official
examination centre for the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, offers
a 4 week preparation course in collaboration with the University
of Alcalá de Henares. Students can sit the Advanced Certificate
in Business Spanish. The Spansih course is made up of 22 classes
per week as well as 10 classes of Business Spanish in groups of
6 to 12 students. Topics included in this course are: business
correspondence, verbal negotiation, socio-political geography,as
well as the state of the Spanish economy in the Hispanic and International
markets. It is an ideal course for professionals working in import-export
or for those who wish to work in Andalusia.
Extra course in Teaching
Spanish as a foreign language
Refresher courses for Spanish language areas
and how to impart them in the classroom. This course is ideal
for teachers who wish to take home lots of practical ideas and
activities to use with their own students. The majority of students
on this course are Spanish teachers in other countries. Final
course content will be determined on the first day but can include:
grammar, lesson planning, pronunciation, correction methods etc.
At the same time that students take part in the classes in the
morning, they will be able to observe the teaching methods of
our teachers and revise them with their teacher trainers. This,
along with the 'Methodology and Culture' course, is given by teachers
from the teacher training department.
