Seville is the ideal place
to experience the Spanish way of life due to the wide range of
cultural activities that the city can provide. The Spanish language
school offers its students a programme of activities from Monday
to Thursday to help them discover the city and its pastimes. This
varied program helps students to fit into their new lifestyle
in addition to the Spanish language classes they receive. The
vast majority of activities are free or have a nominal fee.
IN SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Free optional classes for
students given by the teachers, which include conferences and
talks as well as exhibitions organised by the Spanish school's
collaborators.
Example:
Spanish History, Art History, Phonetics, Cinema, Spanish cookery
classes, Sevillana dance classes. Other activities: Salsa classes
and wine tasting.
OFF SITE ACTIVITIES
Guided visits set up by
the Spanish language school to different monuments and museums
in the city by the teachers.
Example:
The Cathedral, Reales Alcazares (Royal Palaces), Casa de Pilatos,
Hospital de los Venerables, Hospital de la Caridad, the Town Hall.
SHOWS
A varied selection of the
most interesting shows for the students which are performed at:
Teatro Central, Casa de la Memoria (flamenco) and Teatro Lope
de Vega.
EXCURSIONS
Half-day to Italica, Santa
Maria de las Cuevas Monastery and Carmona. Full day to Cordoba,
Antequera, Ronda, Cadiz, the mountains in winter and the beach
in summer (1 hour from Seville). These excursions take place on
Saturdays and Public Holidays. The Spanish language school also
offers weekend excursions to Granada and Morocco.
PARTIES
The exchange parties are
justifiably famous amongst the young people in Seville.
