Plaza
de España or 'Plaza de los Pescaitos'
It is a central square which
is used as a meeting place with numerous cafes and bars around
the outside. It got its name from the ornate ceramic fountain
in the middle with goldfish swimming in the pond. The pond is
surrounded with palm trees. The town hall is located in the square.

Cape of Trafalgar
The cape of Trafalgar is a
small beach resort with beautiful scenery and cliffs. The beach
has strong currents and tides and can be a little risky for children
and adults unaccustomed to the sea. The turbulent waves can be
fatal for swimmers who venture too far. The lighthouse made famous
from the battle of Trafalgar dominates the horizon.
Castle
Alcazaba
is a 11th century Moorish fortress. It has beautiful gardens and
a Ogee arch leading into a jasmine scented courtyard. Most of
the castle is now residential. The local market just outside the
castle is always bustling with activity, with vendors selling
fresh produce.
Church
Church of El Divino Salvador was built on
the site of an old Mosque. Its minaret decorated with bells can
still be seen. The mosque was Mudejar built by the moors and just
the front of the main aisle is Visigothic. Santuario de Nuestra
Senora de la Oliva is another local chapel with a 16th century
image of the Virgin Mary.
