MARBELLA: ATTRACTIONS
Located
in the heart of the historical center of Marbella, is the colorful
Seat of the Naranjos. It is characterized by the three historical
buildings: the Consistorial House , the House of the Corregidor
and the old Hermitage of Santiago. In the center of the seat is
a bust of King Don Juan Carlos I, surrounded by flowering plants
which in spring impregnate the air with their sweet scent. Nearby,
is the Plaza de la Iglesia and further down is the Museo del Grabado
Español Contemporáneo, which houses works by Picasso,
Miró and Dalí. East of the old town, in Parque de
la Represa is the interesting Museo Bonsai, devoted to the Japanese
miniature-tree art.
Playa
de la Fontanilla, west of Glorieta de la Fontanilla, and Playa
de Casablanca, beyond Playa de la Fontanilla, are longer, broader,
and less crowded than the central beaches.
There are daily excursion to Puerto Banús,
the Costa del Sol's flashiest marina. The Banús harbor,
is surrounded by varied restaurants and bars and the Aquarium
de Puerto Banús.
