Nerja is a great jumping off point to other points
of interest in Andalucia. Below are examples of just some of the
places you will have the opportunity to visit when you go to Nerja
(Spain) to study and learn Spanish.
The Rock of Gibraltar
Gibraltar is located just off the coast on the
southern most point of Spain. Many go to Gibraltar for both a
shopping and sight seeing experience. The views from the Rock
of Gibraltar are incredible. While there you can also take a boat
tour of the bay and during certain times of year see dolphins,
whales and turtles. Gibraltar is also famous for the local apes,
so take the opportunity to check them out.
Ronda
Ronda is one of the oldest cities in Spain. It
has a variety of attractions including a beautiful cathedral and
the oldest bull ring in Spain. While there stop by the Gorge of
El Tajo. The view from this point is well worth the trip.
Granada and the
Alhambra Palace
Granada is probably one of the most popular destinations
in southern Spain. This historic city has plenty to offer the
visitor including the Cathedral, the Royal Chapel, the Moorish
Market and the Alcaiceria. The main attraction however is the
palace complex known as the Alhambra. This palace provides visitors
a chance to see an incredible example of Moorish architecture.
Seville
Easily one of the most charming and beautiful
cities in Spain. Seville offers visitors a fantastic cultural
experience, a rich history, and incredible architecture. The center
point of the city is the 600 year old cathedral which is reputed
to be the 3rd largest in the world.
Cordoba
During the Moorish times in Spain, Cordoba was
an important capital. This city is full of history. You can find
Roman ruins, beautiful examples of Moorish architecture such as
the Alcazar and the Mezquita, and a historic Arab and Jewish quarter.
Just wandering around the winding streets is a wonderful experience.

many other options available to you that are within a short distance
of Nerja.
